We meet on the north lawn at Montrose Point while the lakefront path is still quiet. The practice opens slow, with fifteen minutes of joint work and long breathing before we build into a steady standing sequence. Nothing in the class requires a previous yoga background, and every shape is taught with at least two options.
The last twenty minutes are floor-based and unhurried. We finish sitting up, facing east, so the closing breath lands with the sun over the water. Instructors circulate the whole time and will happily adjust anything that does not feel right in your body.
Afterwards a group walks fifteen minutes south to a coffee shop on Wilson Avenue. That part is entirely optional, and roughly half the room comes along. It is the easiest way to meet people if you arrived on your own.
