Sunrise Flow at City Park

A steady all-levels practice on the lawn by Ferril Lake, with the front range in view for the whole standing sequence.

The session

What actually happens

Denver mornings in September are cold and bright, so we start with a longer warm-up than our other cities and keep moving for the first half hour. The standing sequence faces west, which means the mountains are directly in front of you for most of the class.

Altitude is real and we plan for it. The pace is deliberately slower than a sea-level class, rest is built into the sequence rather than offered as an exception, and we say out loud when it is a good moment to sit down.

This is our largest Denver gathering and it fills up. If the lawn is at capacity we open a second circle further along the path rather than turn anyone away.
